"...One has to be very careful with definitions, eg. 28 across "slang for yes" is not "yea" which is pronounced "yay, as in nay". The answer should be "yeah", or def should be the opposite of nay. Then 31 across - "shoot" does not mean "gun". It's what you shoot with. Def should be something like "firearm". Also, plurals and singulars should be consistent - eg. 7down "The rules we live by" should be "laws" not "law". It's things like this that make a crossword challenging and fun. When the rules aren't followed, it just becomes a lucky guess...."
