What is the objective?

The objective of the game is to fill all the blank squares in a game with the correct numbers. There are three very simple constraints to follow. In a 9 by 9 square Sudoku game:

Every Sudoku games begins with a number of squares already filled in, and the difficulty of each game is largely a function of how many squares are filled in. The more squares that are known, the easier it is to figure out which numbers go in the open squares. As you fill in squares correctly, options for the remaining squares are narrowed and it becomes easier to fill them in.

How do I play the sudoku puzzles?

You play the sudoku by using your mouse and keyboard to navigate around the puzzle. To select a square to solve first single click your mouse over the square you want to solve which will highlight the square in the grid. You can then type in your answer using the keyboard. Alternatively you can navigate around the puzzle using the "arrow" keys on your keyboard.

How do I check my solution?

You can check your progress at any time by clicking the "Check Progress" button. Incorrect squares will be highlighted.

How do I save my progress?

Your progress on a puzzle is automatically saved when you go to another page on this site or visit another web site. The puzzle is not automatically saved if you close your web browser, however in this situation you should click on the "save" button which can be found in the top-left corner above the puzzle.

How do I move onto a new sudoku?

You can move onto the next sudoku by clicking the "Next Sudoku " button in the bottom-right corner below the puzzle.

How do I skip this sudoku?

You can skip the current sudoku by clicking the "Next Sudoku" button in the bottom-right corner below the puzzle.

How do I print a sudoku?

You can print a sudoku by clicking the "Print" button at the top-right of the sudoku grid. This will open up a new window from which you can print the sudoku from. This window also allows you to print a copy of the sudoku containing the solution.
